'Krasnaya Roza 1875' Business Quarter, Moscow, Russia
In close collaboration with Gillespies – UK masterplanning and landscape architecture practice, &light developed the lighting design and site navigation system for “Krasnaya Roza 1875” business quarter in Moscow.
The history of the development of the grounds dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries, when the main road from Moscow to Kiev ran through them. In the 18th century, large city manors of Moscow nobility sprouted up here. In 1875 the quarter was occupied by Russia`s largest silk factory, Claude-Marie Gireau, which after the Revolution of 1917 was renamed «Krasnaya Roza».
Today Krasnaya Roza is undergoing its second birth, in the form of a modern business quarter. The old traditions are being revived and there is a new energy in the air. Many successful companies are choosing Krasnaya Roza for their offices. The business centres inside the business quarter bear the names of great Russian industrialists, merchants and patrons, who contributed a spirit of success and innovation to the history of business in Russia and began new traditions of charitable activities.
“Krasnaya Roza” project is definitely one of the most challenging projects our design team has worked on. Extremely high Client expectations, tight project schedule, project site structural limitations, strict local regulations and limited available electrical power for lighting are just a few things that we had to deal with working on this project.
The proven professionalism of our design team, close collaboration with the architect throughout the design and innovative sustainable approach enabled us to deliver the project successfully and on time. The lighting scheme developed was fully coordinated with the site navigation system, which was also developed by our team, as well as coordinated with the overall branding strategy of the “Krasnaya Roza” complex.
As part of the project we also provided lighting consulting and product design services in order to improve the overall nightscape of the project and to create a unique lighting image of “Krasnaya Rosa” and an unforgettable experience for the people.
